(U) On December 2, post's Pandemic Influenza Action Committee met per action request reftel. The committee was chaired by the DCM and included representatives from the following sections: Political-Economic, Consular, RSO and Med. Med reviewed post's avian influenza plan, and the committee agreed that no changes were required and that the plan was consistent with similar tripwires utilized by other embassies. A review of post's medical supplies revealed sufficient medications and equipment (including Tamiflu and Relenza) to cover beneficiaries should this be required. ¶2. (U) Food requirements will be met by individual's stores and by utilizing post's commissary. Water stored in each home's water storage tanks backed up by the mission's own wells would be able to sustain the community for an extended, if not indefinite, amount of time should the occasion arise. ¶3. (U) Information concerning pandemic influenza preparation for individuals will be disseminated to the embassy community by post's Medical Officer. The Consular Section will send similar information to the private American community in Georgia as well. TEFFT
