SUBJECT: WORLD SUMMIT ON INFORMATION SOCIETY: GEORGIA 
PROMISES TO BACK U.S. POSITION

1. Per reftel, Post delivered the message to the Chairman of 
the Georgian National Communication Commission, Dimitri 
Kitoshvili, on November 3.  Post delivered the demarche 
including the talking points and background information on 
the U.S. position for the World Summit on the Information 
Society scheduled for November 16-18, in Tunis. 
 
2. The Chairman expressed his thanks for helping him become 
familiar with the U.S. position.  During a followup call to 
the chairman on November 15, Kotishvili said he had sent his 
deputy (NFI) to represent Georgia at the Summit and 
instructed him to support the U.S. position on the future of 
Internet development and governance.
